Rice Dept promotes new technologies in rice production

June 5 each year marks National Rice and Farmer's Day. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, through the Rice Department, has organized this year's activity to impart technologies in rice production to raise incomes for farmers. 

"Technology Transfer Day" under the project to support large-scale farms of 2018 is held at the Rice Department at Kasetsart University. The event features more than 300 varieties of rice; advanced rice production technologies such as laser ploughing, innovations in value added processing, and product showcases by farmers from large-scale farms.

The event continues until June 9 and features more than 100 vendors selling rice and processed rice products. 

 Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Kridsadaa Bonraat today reiterated the government's emphasis on quality rice production, developing the lives of farmers, and the use of innovative production processes according to the Thailand 4.0 agenda which aims to provide Thai farmers with stable incomes. 

 Regional events are also being held on June 4-5 in Phrae in the north, Nong Khai in the northeast, Ratchaburi in the central region, and Phatthalung in the south.
