Vinamilk named one of ASEAN’s Top 50 companies
(VOV) - Vinamilk made it to the inaugural list of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) top 50 publicly listed companies (PLCs) during the first ASEAN Corporate Governance Conference and Awards ceremony.
At the event held this past November 14 at the Manila Polo Club, the top 50 companies in the region were recognized for their remarkable efforts in practicing good governance.
“I’m very proud of the entire Vinamilk corporate governance team and we are honoured to have been selected to receive such a prestigious award,” said Strategic Planning Director Nguyen Trung in accepting the award.
“At Vinamilk we are committed to good corporate governance practices and achieving our business objectives in an honest, transparent and socially acceptable manner. We regard good governance as the key to underpinning sustainability.”
According to the organizing board, the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards are the region’s most prestigious event that recognizes companies that continuously implement good corporate governance in their operations and services.
The top 50 PLCs are graded based on specifications that include right of shareholders, equitable treatment, role of stakeholders, disclosure and transparency, board responsibilities, and bonuses and penalties.
