China, Vietnam hold third border defence friendship exchange

VOV.VN -On March 28, National Defence Minister and General Phung Quang Thanh and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Qi Jianguo co-chaired the third Vietnam-China Border Defence Friendship Exchange in the northern Lang Son province.

The exchange is part of the third Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange. 

In his speech, Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh said,“The Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange has become an important annual event for the two countries’ armies and people living along their borders. This event is particular to the two socialist countries that share the border line. I believe that this exchange will strengthen mutual political trust and create new momentum to deepen the Vietnamese-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership and build the borderline as an area for peace, friendship, cooperation, development, stability and sustainability”.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Qi Jianguo praised the two countries for elevating bilateral ties to a higher level, saying that joint work between their border soldiers is providing a solid foundation for furthering Vietnam – China relations.

At the event, delegates from the two countries confirmed their determination to ensure peace, friendship, cooperation and development in their border areas, and shared their experiences in border management and protection and crime fight.
