Japanese Ambassador honoured with friendship insignia

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) on April 23 presented the “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia to Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio.

Upon addressing the award ceremony, Phan Anh Son, president of the VUFO, said this is in recognition of and an honour to the Japanese diplomat for his contributions aimed at reinforcing and deepening the mutual understanding, friendship, solidarity, and co-operation between the people of both sides.

Son hailed the Ambassador’s contributions to the activities held last year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of joint diplomatic ties, highlighting his role in strengthening the two countries’ co-operation in COVID-19 prevention and control, with the Japanese Government providing the Vietnamese side with around 7.35 million vaccine doses.

He went on to outline his belief that moving forward, in any position, the Japanese diplomat will make positive contributions to strengthening and reinforcing the solidarity and ties of friendship and co-operation that exist between the two peoples.

For his part, Ambassador Takio expressed his honour at receiving the insignia and affirmed that the Vietnam - Japan friendship will continue growing. He also pledged to do his utmost to enhance the people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
