At a reception in Hanoi on May 2 for Cuban Minister of Communications Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, the Government leader affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to help Cuba build a cyber security supervision centre.

He expressed confidence that with its potential and determination, Cuba could develop a modern telecommunication infrastructure, and Vietnam is willing to help the country reach that goal at the earliest.

With its telecom experience over the past three decades, Vietnam is ready to share lessons, policies and technology with Cuba, Phuc told his guest.

The cabinet leader also voiced his support for joint development of telecom, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and software products for Cuba as well as Latin America.

He assigned the MIC to direct firms study the possibility of building a plant and enhancing ICT trade with Cuba.

PM Phuc asked the Cuban Ministry of Communications to offer all possible support to leading Vietnamese ICT businesses to become involved in the Latin American market.

The Cuban Minister, in turn, briefed his host about the outcomes of ties between the two ministries, saying that both sides discussed issues on bilateral ICT cooperation, especially cyber security.

He said he was assigned by the Cuban government to attend the funeral of former President Le Duc Anh and conveyed regards from the Communist Party of Cuba’s leaders to the Vietnamese Party and State counterparts.

The Cuban minister expressed his desire to learn from Vietnam’s invaluable experience in ICT development, defence of sovereignty in cyberspace and development of bandwidth telecom infrastructure.
