Vietnam desires long-term and strategic cooperation with Boeing

VOV.VN - Vietnam regards cooperation with Boeing as being on a long-term and strategic basis and the Government is willing to provide the best possible conditions for the US aircraft manufacturer to increase investments in the country.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the statement at a reception for President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Kevin McAllister on October 2 in Hanoi.

PM Phuc asked Boeing to continue assisting Vietnamese partners in selecting suitable planes and operating efficient flights, hoping that the US biggest aircraft manufacturer
and Vietnamese airlines will reach numerous cooperation agreements in the time ahead.

He also called for Boeing’s assistance in opening a pilot training centre in Vietnam in the near future and displayed his belief that both sides will further expand cooperation based on the background that Vietnam Airlines has hired and purchased a large number of Boeing airplanes as a result of the growing cooperation between the two nations.

Vietnam has launched direct flights to the UK and Australia, Phuc said while expressing his hope that Boeing will support Vietnam in operating direct flights to the US, which is significant to the development of the Vietnam-US relations.

For his part, Kevin glowingly spoke of Vietnam’s socio-economic development, especially the robust growth of the country’s aviation market.

Vietnam could become a partner to supply components for the production of Boeing airplanes, he said, stating that the US company will continue providing the best-quality aircraft for Vietnam.

He affirmed Boeing's willingness to dispatch its top experts to help Vietnam, especially in improving aviation infrastructure.
