Chinese director arrested in Pleiku for killing his accountant

VOV.VN - Chinese national Yang Zhong Wu, director of Vinh Nhuan Co. Ltd in the southern province of Binh Duong, has been caught after allegedly murdering his accountant.

According to initial information following the arrest, police forces in Binh Duong worked in co-operation with police of Pleiku in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai to arrest the Chinese director while he was buying clothes at a shop in Pleiku, roughly 450 km north of Binh Duong.

This comes after police said on March 30 that they were searching for the Chinese director after he had fled the company right after killing female accountant Ly Thi Mai.

Witnesses shared that they had seen Chinese citizen Yang Zhong Wu, 47, use a pick-up truck to flee the scene.

Once at the police station, Yang Zhong Wu confessed that he had argued with Mai and used a fruit knife to stab the 30-year-old female accountant several times to death due to not being able to control his anger.

After the murder, he drove away and brought with him roughly VND1 billion for the purpose of finding a way to cross the border and leave Vietnam.

Currently, the case has been handed over to the Binh Duong’s police forces for further investigation.
