Civil groups active in realizing SDGs

VOV.VN -  Challenges facing Vietnam and its civil groups in implementing the millennium development goals (MDGs) and sustainable development goals (SDGs) were touched upon at a workshop held in Hanoi on April 8.

The event was held by the Vietnam Peace and Development Fund and ActionAid organization in Vietnam. 

The participants discussed experiences in carrying out MDGs and SDGs, government’s related policies and strategies and promoted global and regional integration. 

The workshop highlighted a number of challenges including the complicated international situation, global economic downturn and declining funds for development activities.

Representatives from the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Foreign Affairs, Natural Resources and Environment, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the UN Development Program gave presentations on the opportunities and challenges for Vietnam in implementing MDGs and SDGs, as well as achieving SDGs in the fields of the environment, labor and social security.
