Concert fundraiser to cover lifesaving operations for the poor

VOV.VN - A music performance staged at the Hanoi Opera House to raise funds for impoverished patients drew the participation of many famous singers such as Thanh Lam, Dang Thuat, and Le Man.

The surgery fund for poor patients set up by Dr Tran Quoc Khanh from Vietnam-Germany Hospital aims to help financially disadvantaged patients to pay treatment and surgery fees for fatal diseases.

Six patients, mainly disadvantaged children, will be beneficiaries of the VND100 million raised at the music performance.

The fund was first introduced in Ha Tinh on December 9, 2017.

The music performance raised more than VND1 billion from benefactors. Dr Khanh says such a sum can cover the costs of performing around 50 surgeries for impoverished patients in 2018 and he hopes to receive yet more support from generous patrons.
