Fisherman in distress handed over to Philippine patrol ship

VOV.VN - The Navy Command Region 4 announced on May 7 that ship 412 of the Region 4 Command had just handed over a drifting Filipino fisherman who was rescued by a Vietnamese fishing ship in the waters of the Truong Sa island district in Khanh Hoa province.

According to initial information, Filipino fisherman Allan Maglangit who was born in 1973, lives in Liloan Santander Cubo in the Philippines and was drifting for unknown reasons in the eastern area, roughly about 15 nautical miles from Thi Tu island.

On May 4, a fishing vessel owned by Cao Tan Chon of My Tho city in Tien Giang province was operating to purchase seafood at sea, during which they rescued a person in distress and were able to provide them with health care.

The same day saw ship 412 of the Region 4 Command, which was performing patrol duties at sea, given orders from superiors to receive the Filipino fisherman rescued by the fishing boat.

Two days later, at a position 80 nautical miles from Da Thi island, ship 412 handed over Filipino fisherman Allan Maglangit to the Philippine patrol ship PS-17 while ensuring absolute safety.
