In photos: eight dead as fire destroys Hanoi workshop

VOV.VN -A deadly fire ripped through a workshop that manufactures plastic products in Trung Van ward, Nam Tu Liem district of Hanoi on April 12, leaving eight people dead.

The origins of the incident began early in the morning at 2:15 a.m. in Alley 1 Dai Linh.
Located at the heart of a residential area, the workshop contained many flammable materials that caused the fire to rapidly spread once engulfed in flames.
 Four factories belonging to the workshop, covering a total area of 1,000 square metres, was totally destroyed as a result of the blaze.
Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, arrived at the scene to direct ongoing resuce work.
Local authorities have confirmed that eight people were killed as a result of the tragic accident.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
 
The families of the deceased have been compensated with VND10 million each to hold funerals.
