Malaysian divers fish body of Vietnamese fisherman out sunken boat

Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) divers on August 14 recovered the remains of a Vietnamese fisherman who went missing when a fishing boat sank in waters off Bintulu 11 days ago.

The New Straits Time Online of Malaysia cited RMN Diving Unit Two Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Najib Harun, saying that the victim's remains were found inside the sunken boat at a depth of 31 metres, about 15 nautical miles west of Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu.

However, the divers did not find the body of another fisherman, who was also feared drowned in the incident, he added.

The body was brought to the Marine Operations Force jetty in Bintulu, where it was handed over to police.
