PM surveys typhoon damage, thanks first responders

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc surveyed the damage in central Vietnam from Typhoon Doksuri by helicopter on the morning of Saturday, September 16, praising the work of first responders.

In the district of Ky Anh in central Ha Tinh Province, The Prime Minister (above) receives updates on recovery efforts from local authorities as well as personally views damage caused by the monster storm.

He makes another stop to meet with leaders of Ha Tinh Province after Typhoon Doksuri spurs widespread flooding and destruction in and around the capital city of Ha Tinh.

The Prime Minister expresses his appreciation for first responders grappling with the devastation from the hurricane in the district of Ky Anh (pictured). I just want to thank everyone for their hard work, he says.

For Prime Minister Phuc the visit Saturday offers the chance to see how people are coping with the massive destruction such as that shown above and see first-hand how local officials have responded.

We’ve seen the devastation, and massive power outages, Prime Minister Phuc tells reporters after arriving in in the district of Ky Anh. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a few days to fix them.

A dike in the district of Hai Hau in Nam Dinh Province gives way causing enormous flooding.

Mainly, however, The Prime Minister on his visit seeks to highlight the work of federal and local agencies, commending them for their coordination amid trying circumstances.

Local officials in Nam Dinh Province report to Prime Minister Phuc that they have more than 2,000 personnel working 24/7 round the clock to respond to Typhoon Doksuri, including staff from military and civilian agencies.

Prime Minister Phuc assures local officials and people that the government will be with them today, tomorrow to help rebuild the central provinces devastated by Typhoon Doksuri until they are bigger and better than ever.
