Road closures in Hanoi for countdown party
VOV.VN -Many roads near Hoan Kiem will be closed to vehicles on Saturday (Dec. 31) for the countdown party to usher in the promising New Year, Hanoi city officials have announced in a news release.
Only emergency vehicles and the police can access the roads during the closures.
This year’s celebration will broadcast live on VTV1 channel starting at 9:45 p.m. Featured singers headlining this year’s celebration include My Linh, Phuong Uyen among others.

The special guest of honour is marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh who won the country’s first gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics. A video of Hoang’s historic win is expected to air in the waning moments of the year.
As is customary the roar of guns will ring out the old and usher in the new year, said city officials.
