Russia National Day marked in HCM City
VOV.VN - The relations between Vietnam and Russia have developed strongly since the two countries lifted ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in 2012, said Huynh Cach Mang, vice chairman of HCM City People’s Committee at a June 8 ceremony to mark Russia National Day.
The city has established cooperative ties with Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok and Svetlov, focusing on economics, environment, water resource management, education and training, science and technology, and culture and tourism.
It has been closely coordinating with the Russian Embassy and Consulate General to effectively implement cooperation programs in line with sound development of bilateral relations, said Mr Mang.
Popov Alekey Vladimirovich, Consul General to HCM City, in turn said recent high-ranking visits demonstrate fine relations between the two countries and believed that President Tran Dai Quang’s visit to Russia late this month will help further cement the comprehensive strategic partnership and open new cooperation opportunities between the two sides.
