Hip injury side-lines Tien Minh at German Open

Nguyen Tien Minh on March 3 announced he is dropping out of the ongoing German Open badminton tournament due to a minor hip injury but hopes to play again in a few days.

Minh started out playing well at the tournament but stumbled in the third round due to the injury and during a break in play made the decision to stop the match and dropped out of the tournament.

"I personally contacted tournament officials and expressed my regret in not being able to play," Minh said later. "This is an outstanding event, but I must take a few days off to get better."

The tennis star said he will take a few rest days before returning to international competition.
