Liem named No 34 chess player in world ranking

Vietnam’s Le Quang Liem has jumped to No 34 in the world in the FIDE’s May ranking.

Liem won a championship title at the April’s Final Four of College Chess in New York. He then bagged an individual gold and a team silver at the Asian championship.

He jumped two steps up compared to last month’s position.

His career best ranking was No 25 in October in 2011.
