Vietnam girls strike gold at Asian youth chess tourney

VOV.VN - Ton Nu Quynh Duong and Nguyen Thanh Thuy Tien have won gold medals at the Asian Youth Chess Championship, which concluded on April 14 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Duong won a gold medal at the standard event in the U8 category with 7.5 points, followed by Unurzul Davaakhuu from Mongolia with 7 points.

In the U18 girls’ event, after nine matches, the gold medal went to Thuy Tien with 7 points. She defeated Chandreyee Hajra from India in the final match.

This year, The Championship attracted 410 competitors from 18 countries around the globe.
