Vietnam U20 mentally focused in final World Cup practice

VOV.VN - After putting his team through a gruelling final full practice on Wednesday (May 17), Vietnam U20 Coach Hoang Anh Tuan declared his squad ready to go for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

As was the case after the previous full practices this week, the Vietnam squad didn't suffer any injury setbacks.

Of the players on the active roster, defensive defender Van Toi is the only non-participant.

All other players are probable, and none were limited in Wednesday’s workout.

I feel good about where we are, Tuan said. Our guys have worked hard, and the preparation's been good. Excited to play the game.

The team could be described as spirited.

Midfielder Phan Thanh Hua has fully recovered from his injuries and has passed all required tests by coach Martin Forkel.

Defender Van Toi will not suit up for the FIFA World Cup due to an ankle injury sustained earlier.

Doctors say it will take at least four weeks before he’ll be ready to play again.

Coach Tuan hasn’t yet decided on Van Toi’s replacement.
