German Chancellor Angela Merkel will make an official visit to Vietnam on October 11-12, according to Luong Thanh Nghi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit aims to boost comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Germany in various areas, especially in politics-diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, development cooperation, education and training.
The Chancellor is scheduled to hold talks with Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung and other senior Vietnamese leaders. She will also visit some economic and cultural centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
