•  Deputy Defence Minister receives foreign veterans

At a reception in Hanoi on August 23, President Sang warmly welcomed their visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Ministry of Defence, which he said would contribute to strengthening and fostering the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the people of Vietnam and those countries.

He expressed the deep thanks of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for the wholehearted support given by the people of the former Soviet Union, including those of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, to the Vietnamese people’s in the past struggle and present in national construction.

The veterans recalled the hardships as well as the glorious victories of the Vietnamese people and army and expressed their wishes to make further contributions to fostering the relations between those countries and Vietnam.
