President meets outstanding cultural families’ delegates

(VOV) - Building today’s cultural families need to promote fine traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families in accordance with the inevitable changes of the society.

President Truong Tan Sang made the statement on December 18 at a meeting with 70 delegates who are in Hanoi to attend a conference to honour outstanding cultural families.

President Sang lauded positive activities of cultural families, noting the families are components of the society.

He asked the cultural sector to put forth movements to educate people to maintain the country’s good customs and moral foundation.

The delegates said that they hope the Party and State will have a mechanism encouraging cultural families to promote their role in the community.

They expressed their belief in the Party and State’s policy of great national unity, affirming that they will make efforts to reduce poverty and build a cultural life in residential areas.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam now has 16.4 million cultural families, and 71,900 villages and residential areas of cultural standard.
