Vietnamese cyclists to race in Makassar

Five cyclists of the Vietnamese Dong Thap team will take part in the Tour de Makassar in Indonesia on November 11-13.

The tournament features local and international athletes, with competitors coming from Indonesia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Germany.


According to chairman of the executive committee Chandra Djania Samad this is the first time the tournament is being held in Makassar, and also the first international championship conducted by Sport Bike Indonesia.

The Tour de Makassar comprises three stages. The first stage is the start of Makassar to Bone over 172km. Bone to Parepare is the second 155.5km stage while the third stage from Parepare back to Makassar is 174km.

Athletes will finish at the Beach Pavilion Losari with a prize of US$30,000 up for grabs.
