The National Assembly Standing Committee will convene its 38th session in Hanoi on March 28, which will give opinions on 12 new bills.

The bills include those on guest workers, donating and transplanting body organs, amendments to the Civil Code (relating to strikes), gender equality, technology transfers, standardisation, dykes, residence, notarisation, associations, and amendments to the Population Ordinance.

The session will last through to April 5.

*** The NA Committee for External Affairs held a session in Hanoi on March 26 to discuss the draft law on amendments and supplements to the Labour Code relating to labour strikes and solutions.

Members of the Committee agreed that the regulations of the Labour Code and Ordinance on Labour Disputes has created favourable conditions for labourers to protect their rights and heighten the responsibilities of trade unions, facilitating the relationship between employers and employees.

Members proposed that the amendments to the Labour Code create a legal basis to ensure transparency between labour relations and the investment environment, and perfect regulations on strikes in accordance with the regulations under the Civil Procedures Code and Trade Union Law and other legal documents.
