Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, overseas Vietnamese in Qatar have donated US$3,570 in support of their compatriots in central provinces, which were recently ravaged by storms Ketsana and Mirinae.

The liaison committee for overseas Vietnamese in Qatar on November 27 delivered the donation to the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar to convey to flood victims in their fatherland.

Also on the same day, Phung Ngoc Mai, a sixth grade Vietnamese student, handed over US$140 to the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar to give to the Dan Tri newspaper to assist Nguyen Van Sao, a shoe-shining boy, who is in dire need of funding for his heart surgery.

Vietnamese ambassador to Qatar, Phung The Long, highly praised overseas Vietnamese’ feelings and promised to hand over the money to flood victims through the VFF and Dan Tri newspaper as soon as possible.
