Vietnam, Laos Parties share theoretical work

(VOV) - The first theoretical conference between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) was held in Hanoi on January 10.

The conference is part of a cooperation programme reviewing the current Doi Moi (Renewal) process in each country between the two parties.

Both sides exchanged views on pressing theoretical and practical issues that arise in implementing the Renewal and development process in each country.

They shared each other’s experience in developing the socialist-oriented market economy, and accelerating national industrialization and modernization.

They said the two-day conference offered a good chance for the two parties to promote mutual understanding and strengthen their leadership role in national development to achieve greater success.

In 2012 Vietnam and Laos celebrated 50 years of diplomatic ties and 35 years of signing their friendship and cooperation treaty.

The two countries organized a host of activities to mark the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012.
