Vietnam triumph at SEA Karatedo competition

Vietnam finished first at the Southeast Asian Karatedo Federation Championships which wrapped up in Malaysia on June 5.

The team secured 14 gold, eight silver and 11 bronze medals. Hosts Malaysia finished as runners-up with eight golds, five silvers and 15 bronzes.

Ho Thi Thu Hien of the central province of Ha Tinh contributed two golds in the women’s 68kg and women’s team category.

The competition, which began on June 2, attracted more than 200 athletes in the region.

At the same event held in Laos last year, the Vietnamese team also won with 12 golds, four silvers and nine bronzes.
