The "Hands of Hope" organisation of the US has co-ordinated with relevant agencies in the northern port city of Hai Phong to provide health check-ups and treatment to over 100 poor disabled children in the city's Thuy Nguyen, Vinh Bao, Tien Lang and Kien Thuy districts.

In 2006, Hands of Hope gave the city US$40,000 to cover orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation treatment for 66 children, buy wheelchairs for 50 others, and give allowances to 100 children.
This is the second year the US organisation has helped disabled children in Hai Phong.
