The Prime Minister on May 26 decided to set June 6 as the Traditional Day of the Elderly in Vietnam.

The decision by the PM says that the traditional day aims to highlight the elderly’s tradition and to encourage them to maintain a good lifestyle and family, as well as continue contributing their intelligence and experiences to the cause of national construction and defence.

This is an occasion to mobilise the whole people's care for the elderly, especially those who are in difficulty.
