The 14th Hanoi International Taekwondo Tournament will take place from April 26-29 with the participation of 11 teams from the Republic of Korea (RoK), China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam.

About 200 martial artists will compete in three events, namely individual combat, individual performance and team performance. Those aged between 15-17 will compete in eight categories, while the older athletes will contend in 10 categories.

All international teams to attend the tournament are strong ones, said Nguyen Manh Hung, Vice Director of the Hanoi Sports and Physical Training Department. The RoK and Guangdong (China) are regarded as the strongest, he said.

Most of Vietnamese competitors in the tournament are national team members and young athletes training at national centres.

The tournament is sponsored by the RoK’s GM Daewoo auto company with prizes worth VND320 million in total.
