Vietnam attaches great importance to promoting the friendship and cooperation with Turkey, especially in economics and trade, said Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem.

Mr Khiem, who is also Vietnamese Foreign Minister, made the statement while having talks and meetings with Turkish leaders during his visit on June 26-27.

He held talks with his Turkish counterpart Bulent Arinc, paid a courtesy visit to vice speaker of the parliament Cenap Gulpinar and met with the Istanbul vice mayor as well as with representatives of Turkish businesses operating in Vietnam.

The Turkish leaders praised Vietnam’s Renewal achievements as well as its increasing role and position in the region and the world.

Both hosts and guest expressed their pleasure at the recent fine development of the relationship between Turkey and Vietnam and showed their firm resolve to bring the relationship to new heights in the interests of the two nations and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the rest of the world.
