During the seminar, which was also attended by representatives from several Vietnamese craft associations and Uzbekistani businesses, both sides reviewed the socio-economic situation in their respective countries and discussed measures for trade cooperation development.
Mr. Tu and Mr. Nazhimov agreed that economic cooperation does not yet correspond to the friendly relationship between the two countries and their potential. They, therefore, asked businesses from both countries to promote further trade and economic relations.
Mr. Tu said a delegation of Vietnamese businesses will visit and explore the Uzbekistani market this October.
The event is part of the fourth session of the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Inter-Governmental Committee for Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Uzbekistan reached US$7.9 million in 2009.
