Belarus supplies humanitarian aid to Vietnam

A Belarusian aircraft with humanitarian cargo weighing a total of 42 tonnes landed at Cam Ranh Airport in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on January 21.

The cargo was accompanied by a delegation of representatives from the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus led by Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations, Aleksandr Khudoleev, according to a press release by the Belarusian Embassy.

The delegation brought humanitarian aid to the regions of Vietnam most severely affected by destructive typhoons and floods last year.

The humanitarian aid includes goods from Belarusian producers such as food products (children’s dry mixes, cereals, canned meat), tents, blankets, diesel power generators, and camp cots.

On the same day, a solemn ceremony took place at the Cam Ranh airport in which the Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam, and Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations of Belarus handed over the humanitarian aid to the Vietnamese side.

Leaders of Khanh Hoa province as well as Vietnam Disaster Management Authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and local Fatherland Front representatives attended the event.
