Brisk trade in Hung Yen bonsai kumquat trees as Tet nears

VOV.VN -Van Giang district in the northern province of Hung Yen is the biggest bonsai kumquat garden in northern Vietnam, spanning an area of 300 ha.

  Deep yellow bonsai kumquat trees are in blossom everywhere in Van Giang, especially when the lunar New Year Festival or Tet is drawing near.

    Bonsai kumquat tree is a major agricultural plant in Van Giang. 

     Kumquat tree growing is seen as the way of increasing income for the locals compared to other kinds of traditional agricultural plants.

 The price of a pair of kumquat trees in shape like a large vase ranges VND3-10 million. 


   To shape a vase-shaped kumquat tree costs a lot of time and effort

     Bonsai kumquat trees are much sought by many customers.






    Apart from kumquat trees, other bonsai trees are set at high prices.



  Locals in Van Giang enjoy a bumper crop for kumquat trees this year.
