VOV.VN -Bridges in Vietnam are not just symbols of cities and the country, but also cultural and historical witnesses. Let’s check out top 6 oldest bridges in Vietnam selected by Zing.vn:

The 2,290 metre Long Bien Bridge, having survived countless bombings, stands as a symbol of the nation’s courageous struggle for freedom.
Designed by Gustave Eiffel, it was constructed in 1898 by the Dayde and Pille Company and opened to traffic in 1903.
Chua Cau or Bridge Pagoda in Hoi An, was built by Japanese tradesmen possibly in early 17th century.
It consists of a bridge and a pagoda, both in painted wood.
The bridge is covered by a tiled roof. It is about 18 meters long and spans a stream of Thu Bon River, near the intersection of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Tran Phu streets.
Thanh Toan is an arched, tile-roofed wooden bridge, 17m long and 4m wide.
The bridge was built over 2 centuries ago and damaged many times by storms, floods and wars. However, after the bridge was destroyed, the villagers always contributed to repair, renovate and preserve it.
Truong Tien Bridge in Thua Thien-Hue was designed by Gustave Eiffel and its construction was completed in 1899.
To date, the bridge has connected the banks of the Perfume River for 114 years and it is even older than the historic bridge of Long Bien in Hanoi (built between 1899 and 1902).
Spanning Ben Nghe canal, connecting District 1 and District 4, Mong Bridge is the only bridge in Saigon that was built in the French colonial period. Located in the city’s center, the bridge has become the dating venue of young couples.
Ghenh Bridge, which connects the two shores divided by the Dong Nai River, was built by the French in the 1900s during the colonial period.
The bridge, together with two other bridges in northern and central Vietnam, was designed by the renowned Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the Eiffel Tower, according to some documents.
