A group of 149 people from the Republic of Korea (RoK) travelled to the resort of Mount Kumgang in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday for a three-day reunion with 269 relatives.

The family reunions are the 13th of its kind since the two Korea held a summit in 2000.

Another group of 436 RoK people are planned to arrive in the resort on Thursday. So far, around 13,600 people from the two Koreas have met their relatives under the family reunion programmes.

Inter-Korean trade has remarkably increased over the past years. In the first two months of this year, two-way trade reached US$129.6 million, an increase of 34.4 percent over the same period last year.
