HBSO concert to feature popular local pieces

Conductor/Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach will direct the performance, which will be attended by violinist Ta Bon, soprano Pham Khanh Ngoc, choreographers/People’s Artists Vu Viet Cuong and Kim Quy, and choreographers Nguyen Phuc Hai and Nguyen Phuc Hung, dancers Tran Hoang Yen, Dam Duc Nhuan and Ho Phi Diep, and artists of the HBSO Ballet, Choir & Symphony Orchestra.

In the first part, the audience will enjoy some symphonies that honor the country’s history and late President Ho Chi Minh like Overture “Dai thang cua tinh yeu to quoc” for symphony orchestra by Nguyen Dinh Tan, “Tram nam nho Bac, ngan nam on Nguoi” for symphony orchestra by Vinh Lai, “Mien Nam que huong ta oi” for violin and orchestra by Huy Du, and “Nam quoc son ha” for choir and symphony orchestra by Nguyen Van Nam.

The second part will stage a dance performance scripted by People’s Artists Vu Viet Cuong and Kim Quy and choreographed by Cuong and Quy, and sibling artists Nguyen Phuc Hung and Nguyen Phuc Hai.

The organizer will give 45 invitations to students of the HCMC University of Pedagogy to promote this art among young people. 

Students should produce ID cards when they come to collect tickets at the Opera House at 7 Lam Son Square in District 1 from May 11. Those tickets left will go to students from other schools, starting from May 16.
