Vietnam wins gold at int’l youth invention exhibition

(VOV) -Vietnamese representatives have won a gold, three silver, and one bronze medal at the 2014 International Youth Invention Exhibition (IYIE) held in Taiwan on January 21–22.

The World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA) also awarded the Vietnamese delegation a special prize.

The 2014 IYIE, organised by the WIIPA and the Taiwan’s Far Eastern University, involved more than 1,000 participants representing almost 100 countries and territories around the world.

Dinh Lam Nghi and Pham Vu Minh Cuong, students from the University of Natural Science’s Gifted High Schoo, won the special prize for their “ELP—Easy Learning Programming” project. The project was also awarded a silver medal.

 Tran Van Anh and Nguyen Minh Quang claimed gold medals for their invention “Oil Spill Cleanup Using Natural Corncob Solvent”.

Nguyen Manh Duc Tuan’s “Electricity Saving Software” and Luong The Minh Quang’s “Smindmap: When Education Meets Social Networks”, both earned silver medals.

Nguyen Quang Hai’s “The Little Man Computer Simulation” received a bronze medal.

The Hong Kong Invention Federation also recognised Anh and Quang’s corncob solvent invention with a special prize.
