The Trust Fund for Forests (TFF) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on April 18 singed three agreements to provide 4.67 million euros for three forestry development projects.

The agreements bring the number of TFF-funded projects to 22 since the fund's establishment in 2004.

The three projects will focus on strengthening the capacity of relevant agencies in enforcing forestry laws, piloting the multiple-purpose forest management model in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong and promoting pro-poor forestry in northern central Vietnam.

TFF is a financing mechanism established under a Prime Minister's decision and co-funded by the governments of Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland with technical support from Germany. It aims to hamrmonise the requirements of donors and align with the government's planning and administrative systems in order to support urgent priorities of the forestry sector specified in the Vietnam Forest Development Strategy (2006-2020).
