COVID-19: 735 recoveries in total with no fresh infection confirmed

VOV.VN - Vietnam has recorded zero new case of COVID-19 during the past 12 hours, keeping the infection tally at 1,044, while the overall number of fully recovered patients climbed to 735, the Ministry of Health reported on September 1.

Among the total figure for infections, 690 are locally-transmitted cases, 354 are imported into the nation which were immediately put into quarantine upon arrival.

Furthermore, the number of infections linked to Da Nang, the country’ biggest COVID-19 outbreak hotspot, has risen to 550 since July 25.

The same day, an additional 28 people who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 were released from hospital after going on to make a full recovery, raising the country’s total number of recoveries to 735.

According to figures released by the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, among the active cases currently receiving treatment, a total of 117 have gone on to test negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 at least once or several times.

Following these latest updates, the country's overall COVID-19 tally stands at 1,044, with 34 coronavirus patients passing away due to various chronic conditions coupled with COVID-19 related complications.

Currently, 55,370 people having close contact with infected patients or returning from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine across the country, including 908 at hospitals, 16,117 people at concentrated quarantine establishments and 38,345 at home.

Meanwhile, as from zero hour September 5 the central city of Da Nang is set to carry out the Prime Minister’s Directive 19 on the implementation of measures against the COVID-19 pandemic in the new situation.

There have been 222,000 people in Da Nang having tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus while the remaining 200,000 households have yet to undergo tests. The health sector is poised to take samples of approximately 60,000 households for SARS-CoV-2 testing as swiftly as possible, in which priority will be given to high-risk households.
