Saigon Classical runs latest concert on Nov. 26

The November program will introduce to audiences masterpieces from different stages of music, including the Baroque period (Bach), the classical period (Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven), the Romantic period (Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovksy, Rachmaninoff) and the 20th century music (Prokofiev).

Two pianists Nguyen Lu Hiep and Nguyen Thuy Duong will open the show by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23 and followed by pianist Nguyen Gia Dang with Frédéric Chopin’s Ballade No. 1, Op. 23 in G Minor.

Frédéric Chopin’s Waltz Op. 69 No. 2 in B minor and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 12 in F major, KV 332, III. Allegro assai and Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Op. 75 No. 8: Mercutio & No. 6: Montagues and Capulets will be staged by pianist Nguyen Lan Anh.

The second half of the show features pianist Nguyen Gia Dang and Ho Khanh Van, who respectively play Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in C major Op. 2, No. 3, I. Allegro con brio and Franz Liszt’s Funérailles.

Doan Tran Thuy Tien shows her piano skills via two pieces Sonata in C major, Hob XVI:50, II. Adagio, III. Allegro molto by Joseph Haydn and Étude de concert S.144 No. 3, “Un sospiro” by Franz Liszt.

Pianist Dang Tri Dung and piano accompanist Nguyen Duc Thinh will wrap up the event with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude and Fugue No.12 in F Minor BWV 881, WCT II and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s  Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18.

Due to limited seats, spectators are advised to register in advance via info@saigonclassical.vn. The organizer calls for a minimum donation of VND50,000 to help maintain their operations.

The concert will take place at level 4 of Viet Thuong showroom at 369 Dien Bien Phu Street in HCMC’s District 3. Audiences are advised to park their vehicles at Binh Dan Hospital which is opposite to the showroom.
