The Saigontourist Travel Service Company has been presented with “The Friend of Thai Awards 2008” by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

The award, which was initiated in 1996, is given to international tour operators and airlines.

The company achieved a 37-percent increase in the number of Vietnamese tourists and overseas Vietnamese visiting Thailand in 2007 compared to 2006.

In the first eight months of this year, the company organised trips for more than 250 tourist groups to Thailand, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.

Saigontourist is the first travel agency in Vietnam, which organises weekly tours of Thailand on the five-star Superstar Aquarius Ship.
