1,300 PhD scholarships to be awarded 2016
The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) on February 18 announced the enrollmentof 1,300 candidates this year to train them for attaining doctoral degrees abroad in Project 911.
Project 911 aims to train lecturers to gain doctoral degrees abroad for universities and colleges nationwide from 2010 to 2020.
Accordingly, candidates will be sent to countries with advanced education in the world, including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the US, in addition to Canada, France, Germany, and Belgium. Other countries where candidates will be sent are Russia, Japan, and China, along with Singapore and the Republic of Korea, among others.

It schedules the training of 250 lecturers in natural sciences, 400 in technical and technological sciences, 150 in social sciences, and 200 in agriculture, forestry and aquaculture, apart from 100 in medicine, 150 in economy management and 50 in arts and sports.
The participants are all lecturers teaching at universities and colleges (except colleges for vocational training) and those who have just graduated from their schools not more than 12 months ago and have to commit to come back to be lecturers after finishing the courses.
Besides, applicants must not be older than 45 years and meet some other standards with regard to health, foreign language levels.
Candidates have to register both ways: applying online at the website https://tuyensinh.vied.vn/, and sending required documents to Vietnam International Education Development under MoET at No 21, Le Thanh Tong Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
The entries must be sent before March 31.
The results will be announced in June.
