‘The British Council has actively helped both UK and Vietnamese universities set up and run transnational education programmes by brokering support, hosting workshops, and organising study tours.’

British Council Vietnam (BCV) Country Director Robin Rickard made this statement on June 22 at the Vietnam-UK Education Partnership Workshop in Hanoi, held jointly by the BCV, Vietnam National University and the University of Nottingham.

This workshop offers another interesting opportunity for all participants to explore developing more successful transnational educational partnerships based on excellent case studies from Nottingham University, he added.

Delegates discussed a range of subjects, including mitigating risks in transnational education, writing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), pursuing distance learning, choosing the best partners and ensuring quality.

‘We are excited to have such a great opportunity to meet with a number of colleagues from various educational institutions in Vietnam and discuss issues related to transnational education partnerships, a very promising, yet challenging, area of cooperation,’ said Helen Foster, Head of Partnership Development at the International Office of Nottingham University.

‘The University of Nottingham has successfully launched two campuses in China and Malaysia and established initial links with some Vietnamese institutions, therefore I believe we have important lessons to share with you and we can also learn much from your local perspectives,’ she concluded.
