Autistic children at the Sao Mai Centre in Hanoi enjoyed the Mid-Autumn Festival with young people from a local blog group on October 2.

This was the first time such a Mid-Autumn Festival was held by the group.

The head of the group, Thu Phuong, said they divided the festival into several separate play areas in anticipation of autistic children’s psychological difficulties. In each area, children could take part in activities such as art performances, drawing, and colouring statues.

The director of the centre for raising and teaching autistic children said that most of the children have difficulties in terms of awareness. This festival was a useful tool for them to gradually gain social awareness.

The festival also helped the young people in the blog group understand more about the lives of autistic children, said Thu Phuong.
