Poland, Vietnam hold political consultations

(VOV) - A delegation of Vietnamese diplomats led by Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son visited Poland this week on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Poland.

The delegation had political consultations with Poland’s Under Secretary of State Katarzyna Kacperczyk, paid a courtesy visit to Lower House deputy speaker Jerzy Wenderlich and opened a photo exhibition on Vietnam and Vietnam-Poland relations at Poland’s Parliament House.

During meetings with Polish officials, the two sides agreed to increase the exchange of visits to create momentum for bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, training, national defense, information technology, relic restoration.

They united to soon establish an intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation.

Polish officials praised Vietnam’s renewal achievements and agreed to strengthen cooperation at international forums.

They also appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community to Poland’s cultural diversity and trade, investment, and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Concerning the East Sea issue, Poland insists on resolving disputes through peaceful means on the basis of international law. It supports the role of the international community, particularly the United Nations in settling disputes.
