A Vietnamese delegation from the Ministry of Information and Communications led by its minister Le Doan Hop has paid a five-day visit to Russia at an invitation of the Russian Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications Igor Shegolev.

At the talks on September 28, the two ministers agreed to exchange more visits to share their experiences on information and communications technology (ICT) development, and each country’s policies, especially in software technology, open source software and digital information. They discussed ways of strengthening co-operation between the two ministries in the future, such as Vietnam sending officials to learn how to develop a law on the media and invited Russian reporters to report on Vietnam and its people. They also promised to take part in various international books exhibitions in Moscow and Hanoi and exchange literature, and scientific and technological publications.

During their stay in Russia from September 26-30, the delegation met with the leaders of the Vimpelcom Company, visited famous landmarks in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and met with representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, the Business Association and Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia.
