Australian doctors have been in Central Da Nang city since July 12 to perform free surgery on people with leg deformities from the central and Central Highland regions.

They came from the Australian University to conduct surgical operations at the Da Nang Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Centre. As many as 40 patients in the regions will benefit from the three-week programme.

Meanwhile, WHH-a German humanitarian organisation, has pledged to fund surgery for children with heart disease in southern Tien Giang province from now until the year end, with each operation worth VND40 million.

There are currently more than 200 children with heart disease in the province.
