Nearly 20,000 students, pupils and youth participated in a fund-raising sports festival entitled “Walk for poor and studious children’s dreams” in Hanoi on June 3.

This is the opening activity of the summer volunteering activities organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Young Pioneer Brigade and the Samsung Vina company.

The walk started from the August Revolutionary Square via Trang Tien, Dinh Tien Hoang, and Le Thai To streets to Hang Khay street.

After the walk, Samsung Vina company presented VND200 million and all proceeds to the fund for poor children.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee granted 10 scholarships to poor children in Long Bien and Thanh Tri districts and a scholarship worth VND1 million to Tran Van Truyen in Da Nang, who bravely saved 11 shipwreck victims on April 29.

During the past 6 years, Samsung Vina Company and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee have attracted around 180,000 people to take part in the annual charitable walks, raising nearly VND1.8 billion for poor and studious children and Agent Orange victims.
