The Transport Ministry has approved a US$87.6 million project to build My Loi bridge over the Soai Rap river, linking the Mekong delta provinces of Tien Giang and Long An.
At a working session on September 22, the Transport Ministry and the two provinces agreed to begin construction of the project in 2009.
The 1,390m-long bridge will be completed within 30 months and ships of up to 10,000 tonnes will be able to enter the Soai Rap river.
